Beeswax is made by honeybees and is secreted from the glands under their abdomen. These worker bees are between 12-18 days old and this wax is in the form of a scale which is about the size of the head of a pin. The scale is odorless, colorless and tasteless. The bees chew these scales until they become a soft pellet and will work continually until they build hexagonal cells for the storage of their pollen, honey and developing offspring. The beeswax can be between a pale yellow to a light brown color and obtains its unique color and scent due to the floral source of the pollen. Organic Beeswax ensures that the honey bees who created this beeswax only fed from organic botanicals.
Shelf Life: Beeswax can be stored for a very long time as it is almost indestructible and wont mold or disintegrate. This beeswax is not in neat uniform blocks. We break up and chip off pieces to make up the exact amount ordered. Your beeswax chunks will vary in size and shape, but will equal the amount ordered. Beeswax blocks may vary in color. May have small brown specs of honeycomb and other natural matter from organic processing. The wax has not been heavily filtered, this preserves the natural character of the beeswax.
